Design of solar powered vapour absorption refrigeration system
Authors
Sarvesh Dayal, Rahul Sharma
Abstract
The objective of this paper is to design and study an environment friendly solar-powered refrigeration system using a solar flat-plate collector and NH3-H2O mixture as the working fluid. The cooling capacity and the coefficient of performance (COP) of the system are analysed (Mathematical modelling) by varying all independent parameters such as condenser pressure, evaporator pressure, mass flow rate, NH3 concentration and inlet generator temperature. The cooling performance of the system is compared with conventional vapour-compression systems (VCRS) for ammonia refrigerant (R-717).
